The vintage 2007 is characterized by its extreme earliness, due to the exceptionally hot temperatures of April.
The vine flowered around May 20th, i.e. 25 days before the average flowering date.
This earliness, which started at the very beginning of the vegetal cycle, explains why despite a gloomy summer, the harvest started as from September 3rd at the domain, the maturity being successfully completed.
This was the earliest harvest of the century after that of the vintage 2003.
Thanks to the rigorous care in training the vines during summer, including phytosanitary protection, disbudding, thinning out the leaves, bunch thinning, followed by a meticulous sorting during the harvest, the bunches which were vatted were perfectly ripe and sound.
Today, the wines reflect the particular "climat" of this year. The earliness brings supple and round tannins, a moderate acidity and a good vinosity.
The freshness that characterized the summer period of ripening preserved very fresh aromas, and a respect for the identity of each terroir.
In the end, 2007 has produced very scented and well-balanced wines that can be both easily tasted from now on or kept for ageing for several years.
