In 2012, Burgundian winemakers had to battle harder than at any time over the last 30 years to protect their grapes, first against mildew, then against oidium. This strong pressure from diseases was due to a spring and early summer that were particularly damp and often tropical. At the domain, total victory was won against these fungi.
However, we lost a part of the harvest because of flower-shatter, due to unfavourable climatic conditions during vine flowering.
On the other hand, late summer and autumn, through to the end of harvesting, were very favourable to good ripeness for the small quantities picked.
Bunches were very healthy, sugar levels high and acid balance optimal.
Moderate temperatures during the final weeks allowed perfect preservation of the aromas and characteristics typical of each terroir.
The wines are distinguished by the precision of their bouquet and by their overall balance. At this stage in their ageing they are already delicious, while promising great longevity.
